B. Pharm course is designed considering the needs of industry; the course gives more emphasis on development of knowledge and skill to take care of challenges and opportunities. Pharm graduates work in government departments (drug inspector, pharmacist etc.), pharmaceutical companies (manufacturing, packaging, research, formulation development, regulatory affairs, clinical research, legal advisor, quality control, quality assurance, marketing, documentation and technology transfer), universities, research institutes, academic institutes, hospitals, etc. Knowledge Process Outsourcing, Business Process Outsourcing, Pharmacovigilance, Bio-Informatics and Medical Transcription also provides job opportunity and career advancement for the pharmacy professionals. Industries like TCS, Cognizant, Sciformix also recruits pharmacy students in pharmacovigilance departments. For higher studies, our students often pursue their M. Pharm, MS, MBA, M.Tech or Ph.D. from India and abroad.

Introduction

The School of Pharmacy offers M. Pharm courses in three specializations in the areas of pharmaceutical science (Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry). These courses are useful for candidates who wish to develop a career in the field of academics and research. Students under the guidance of their allotted guide/s choose the recent topics of research. The school follows an antiplagiarism policy and encourages original research work to be carried out by faculty and students. With higher qualification a large number of avenues are open for a challenging career in Pharmaceutical industries in several niche areas, including research, regulatory affairs, new formulation development, marketing, clinical project management and administration. An aspirant with experience can move up the ladder to occupy senior positions in pharmaceutical companies, getting good pay and perks.

Regulatory Affairs is a profession which has developed to protect public health, by controlling the safety and efficacy of products in areas including pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, veterinary medicines, medical devices, pesticides, agrochemicals, cosmetics and complementary medicines. Regulatory Affairs plays a crucial role in the pharmaceutical industry and is involved in all stages of drug development and also after drug approval and marketing. They give strategic and technical advice at the highest level in their companies, right from the beginning of the development of a product, making an important contribution both commercially and scientifically to the success of a development programme and the company as a whole The course is intended to impart a thorough knowledge of regulations of various national, regional and global regulatory agencies applicable to various stages of development and commercialization of health care products. Regulatory Affairs is a rewarding, intellectually stimulating and highly regarded profession within pharmaceutical companies.
